Free e-book from Lylah

I first discovered Lylah’s blog through Works for Me Wednesday when I was directed to her post about creating sanctuary in your master bedroom. I thought it was such a beautifully written post and I’ve really enjoyed reading her blog and corresponding with her ever since. She is such a sweetheart who loves the Lord and it shows! Lylah has written a number of e-books and for this weekend only (deadline is Sunday evening at 7:00 pm pst) is generously offering to my readers a free copy of one of them.

If you are interested, here is how you can participate:

1. Visit here for her list of books
2. Choose one, and e-mail Lylah at: lylahl@aol.com with your choice and e-mail address
3. Come back and leave a comment on this post saying which one you selected and why

Enjoy!

Hi! Thanks for the great tip! I am interested in this one: Coffee Talk—the Listening Handbook. I know that I can definitely learn a thing or two about slowing down and truly listening.

  2. Posted February 23, 2008 at 12:43 pm | Permalink

I chose the Coffee Talk - Listening with your Heart book. I’m not a good listener, my “filter” turns on for what I consider important and most everything else doesn’t get remembered. Definitely an area I need improvement in.

    Thanks Laura and Lylah!

Though I was quite tempted to choose the Seven Spiritual Habits of Principled Women, I instead chose the one on mentoring teen-agers. My daughter was married last month and is currently living 90 minutes south of Kyiv, Ukraine and is beginning to work with teens/young adults in that area. This looks like a great resource as she disciples these brand-new believers (and their unbelieving friends!)

I am choosing the book: Becoming an On-Purpose Woman—The Big Guide to Mentoring Women Biblically because it fits where I am in my life now. It’s great to do great things, but are they in line with the purpose that God has for your life? I am at a point in my life where I no longer want to do things just because they need to be done, I want to do them because it’s what God created me to do. It sounds like this book will help me figure out how to do that.

Hi Laura! Thank you so much for letting your readers know about the offer!

I chose “7 Spiritual Habits of a Principled Woman” for Lylah’ s e-book offer. Why did I choose this particular selection?

Several years ago, I took a course on Steven Covey’s “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”. It was very valuable in opening a direction of developing goals a mission in a general sense.

I think that Lylah’s book will help me in further understanding and integrating these habits on a more personal level as a christian woman.
