I think that is oh so clever.
I found a room divider at a yard sale once. You know the accordion-type. It had a lot of water damage on the inserts which were just heavy cardboard. I sprayed the inserts with a flat white paint, leaving the wood frame the natural wood. Then I draped a couple really old quilts over it and it looked great. I paid $3 for the divider and $1 for the paint and used quilts I already had. It can be so easy and economical to do these things. I watch Decorating Cents on HGTV. They have great ideas for re-using things. Go where ever your imagination takes you.
P.S. That room divider hid a stack of boxes but I really wanted it to look like a dressing screen and I guess it really did.

Very clever and pretty, too, Laura. I'll keep my open for storage stars as I travel around B'ville. :-)

That's one of my favorite fabrics ever.

I'm glad to see the photo, because I've been thinking of doing something similar in my bedroom, and it's nice to see that someone actually did it, and it looks great!

Totally off-topic, but I remember your post from the other day about calendars (and am too lazy to go look for it). Do you give yourself permission to throw out those calendars once they are out of date, or do you keep them just in case you might look back at them?

Hi Laura!
Great post, thank you.

I'd love to know some of your thoughts/ideas on more frugal organizing/storage solutions. After quite a few years of not changing anything in my home, I'm ready for some subtle changes & sprucing up, but need to do it on a very minor budget.

I love garage sales too. We start going in the spring. I usually give Madison some money too to keep her busy at them. We love them though. And this project just looks great.
