Let’s talk about the week over week calendar….

Back in August, while I was in Ontario, I found the niftiest week over week dry erase magnetic calendar to use for my menu planning each week. Well I got A LOT of email about my beautiful little planner from many lovely ladies wondering where I bought it from. I had purchased it from Zellers but that wasn’t particularly helpful for many of you so I continued to search the internet for a place to buy it online. I just could not find that sucker and it definitely interfered with my sleep patterns. Oh yes it did. Must.Find.Planner rolled through my head like the credits on the Cars DVD. In other words, never ending! It wasn’t until I was setting up my amazon store (yay, see it over there on the right!) and spending a few hours selecting some mighty fine products to display that I finally found it. Yep there it was, right there on Amazon the whole time. I have no idea how I missed it before. So if you were looking for this particular calendar, never fear, it is here!

Since I only menu plan one week at a time, the other three week panels were just sitting there unused, lonely and dejected. Until today! I had a flash of brilliance (it happens occassionally…lol) and decided how I could use the other weeks. In addition to menu planning, I am now going to use a week to record my daily chores, one week to record my daily fitness accomplishments and the last week to track my daily devotions. I am so excited about this. Having it all recorded like that in one place right on the fridge, where I know I will see it a billion times a day, will assist me in getting done all that I want to get done each day. All I have to do is look at any given day of the week and take my eyes down the column to see what still needs to be completed. I don’t know about you but I tend to get so easily sidetracked during the day that I’m hoping this will help provide the focus I need by serving as a gentle reminder each time I open the fridge door.

Later Mater!

I have a similar calendar board posted inside my pantry door. I use it just for menu planning, but I leave up the previous few weeks for reference to avoid too many repeats.

Glad you found it, though- I’ve “been there” with searching all over the internet to find one specific item! :)

Yep, I saw that it was on Amazon after you first posted about it lol, but haven’t gotten around to buying it yet. I really want it. We have 4 weeks of rotating meals for our menu plan and this would be perfect.

I apparently missed this calendar in your post. It looks like a winner, and I like that the recurring things don’t have to be rewritten every day. You rock for finding such an amazing org. tool. Leave it to a junkie!

I just have to ask, why are the first 5 days of the week kind of curvy?
I went back and read your original post on this and looked at it on Amazon, and I think it looks like something I would really use, but the wavy-ness is bugging me. I’m not sure I could hang that up without knowing why the week has a curve and the weekends do not. Am I missing something?
(Things without straight lines bother me, can you tell?)

Love,
A freaky reader

I actually went to Zellers to see if I can find this and I did! I didn’t buy it that day because it was right before Christmas, but I plan to go back and get it. I, too, was wondering what I would use the rest for but I also came up with the idea to use the other part for daily chores… but because I haven’t bought it yet, I didn’t post my idea and you beat me to it! ;)

I just found your blog and absolutely love it! I’ve been having a blast searching through all of your categories! I LOVE the practical tips and suggestions on how to organize and where to get products!

I have only been at home for a year now and have just recently wrote out my home cleaning schedule. Thinking through this process and staying committed to it has been so beneficial, not only for me but for my family as well. I was so tired of being tackled by the laundry and the never ending projects around the house. It definitely feels so good to be proactive rather than reactive! And it makes my weekly cleaning and life in general so much easier!

Thanks for sharing the calendar! I know I can definitely put this to use! :)

ps-I was inspired by your personal home mission statement and am encouraged to do one for my family too!

i have one similar and put 4 weeks meals on it that every one likes, then after that i can either repeat for another 4 weeks or change some or all recipes.or just use it when i cant be bothered to have to think what to make for dinner for the next week or so.
