Capessa ~ I’m completely addicted already!

I’d have to say I’m the nosiest person I know. I love to people watch and I love trying to figure out their stories. Like the time we were on a plane to Mexico and I was convinced that the man and woman beside me were having an affair and on a lover’s escape. I was sure they were both married but, from their actions and conversations, I was not convinced that they were married to each other. It totally kept me occupied for the whole flight – who needs television! Don’t you find yourself doing this too?

So when this new site called Capessa was brought to my attention I was intrigued because it’s literally made up of hundreds of short video clips of women sharing their personal stories. Not just any stories though, these are the inspirational stories of everyday women sharing advice through personal experience. It is awesome! I’m going to flat out admit to you right now that I couldn’t stop watching. I watched every single video clip, oh yes I did and it was worth every minute!

I thought this video below was appropriate to share here (with permission) about how one woman sought help to get organized and can now enjoy her family again!

I love it!

Upated: the video can now be seen here.

I’m a people watcher too, although I never really thought to try to figure out their story. Great video, inspirational!

Thanks for sharing this clip! I have already decided I am going to focus on getting a bit more organized in some of the hidden places of my home.

Every time I stop by here I am encouraged in that process!! Thanks for cheering us on!! :-)

    That was a great clip!
I’m a “stuffer” too, just like she was. Everything is great on the outside, just don’t open a drawer or door!

    I’m working on it. :)

I need that organizer at my house. But my kids won’t help keep things organized. I have all those cute little labeled bins and they throw “whatever” in there when it’s time to clean up. Frustrating!!

For me it’s seeing how people live. My husband kids me all the time because if we drive by a house at night and the lights are on with the curtains open, I’m looking inside as we drive by! I say it’s open season if they leave the curtains open! LOL! I’ll have to check out that site.

Capessa- What a great site! And what a beautiful family too:)

Just had to say hello and that I love, love, love your site. I can scarcely imagine more of a dream job than “professional organizer”. I’d love to hear about how you do that…special certification or something? And I really get your love for containers. Just yesterday my hubby and I were walking into a home improvement store and there was a big display of totes. I said “oooooo TOTES!” He didn’t quite understand :)I LOVE to buy totes!

I just did a post on organizing a diaper changing station if you’re interested in stopping by to see me.

Again, thanks for your site. I’m a big fan :)

I actually found this site from a link at allforwomen.com.au and I must say that I am addicted. I am an organising NAZI and constantly on everyones backs to get ORGANISED. I can tell you exactely where everything is in my house and sometimes even reorganise things that I have already organised because I’ve found a better way of organiseing things. Gosh that’s a lot of orgaising words in the one sentence.LOL.

I admit I love people-watching too, and (don’t tell anybody) I actually find myself watching every single Lifetime movie with my girlfriend because they seem to be some of the best, most realistic stories (scary, but true)!

She’s been on Capessa like, every day, and she was showing it to me, but I just noticed at the bottom that the site is a Procter and Gamble production. I can’t help but feel like they’re just using her as a free focus group through this site, but I guess if it’s useful for her and she really likes it, I’m not worried. She doesn’t seem to really care either way, but I was wondering what other people’s thoughts were.

    Hey Pete,
Thanks for bringing up the P&G thing. Capessa is a product of P&G’s mission to improve people’s lives, but it isn’t a product of deceptive marketing (which is personally refreshing for me!). We tried to be transparent about the association to P&G so people won’t feel like they’re being used or watched or anything like that by addressing it in the FAQ and putting that little sentence of awareness at the bottom of the page. The FAQ part of the site was pushed live last week since we’re still in Beta and still getting to the details, but you can read more about it here: http://www.capessa.com/members/faq.aspx.
At the end of the day, we really are a handful of people trying to create something that supports and empowers women to lead the lives they want. I’m glad your girlfriend finds it useful, and my hope is that millions of women will too. If we could harness all of our wisdom and use it to support one another and encourage one another… it would basically be revolutionary!
If anyone else has any questions, I’m an open book, as is Capessa, so feel free to ask away. We’re committed to authenticity, so nothing is off limits. Hope that helps clear some things up!

Thanks for clearing that up. I think it’s cool as long as you guys are being honest about it and not trying to pull one over on anyone.

Keep up the good work – and again, please keep the Lifetime thing our secret…unless your site wants do a feature on guys that watch Lifetime with their girlfriends. Maybe I could sit in the shadows like they have those anonymous witnesses do on TV?
