Menu Plan Monday - August 20th

Another week! My weeks are flying by it seems, how about you? Last week was wonderful for us as hubbie was able to join us here in Ontario. It was so nice to see him after nearly two weeks apart. Unfortunately he had to leave today though but we’ll see him again next week when we (myself and three kids, ack!) make our journey home.

I’m pretty excited to share with you the new menu plan tool my sister found for me today at Zellers. I’ve been looking for a whiteboard system for writing up my menu plans to replace my current paper method since I no longer see a need to keep them after each week.

This monthly calendar magnet with four weeks, that can be used together or separately, will be perfect for my fridge. I’ll probably just use one week at a time for now to plan my menus but you never know I might get all wild and crazy and plan my menus for the whole month just so I can use all four weeks at a time…lol. I just love it and can’t wait to get home and start using it!

So here is what we are cooking up this week:

Monday: BBQ Chicken with Strawberry-Orange Pasta Salad

Tuesday: Spaghetti with salad and garlic toast

Wednesday: Ribs with baked potatoes and grilled veggies

Thursday: Beef steaks with roasted potatoes and grilled veggies

Friday: Leftover buffet

WHAT’S ON YOUR MENU THIS WEEK?

Since dinner is being provided by families from our church (I had a baby last week), this week’s menu consists of lunch ideas.

    Hi Laura,
Just found your site! I love your idea of using the white board for menu planning. I actually have these week over week boards and I love them, although I use them for just general planning.

Just so you know, I found that the dry erase marker that came with the package to be terrible and I had lots of problems removing it when the week was done. I bought new Expo dry erase markers and they seem to work much better.

    Have fun menu planning!
    Meg

Those week over week boards do look very helpful. Thanks to Meg for the tip about the marker that comes with the package not working too well… if I buy these I will know to buy Expo markers separately!

Thanks, Laura, for hosting this! You have done an awesome job keeping this going even while on vacation!

Do you ever find that your organizing “stuff” takes up more space than it is worth? I keep running into that problem and needing to simplify even if it isn’t so beautifully “organized.” So I’m curious if you have ever had that problem.
