Ahhh the comforts of home….

in My Life,Silly Fun

It had to be done. I mean I’m here at my sister’s on vacation for a whole month after all. Much too long to be away from my beautiful friends. I miss them so much when I’m away from them.

You see my sister kindly had some empty drawers waiting for me when I arrived so I could unpack some of my stuff but, honestly, I didn’t know how to unpack without my trusty friends. That first night it was hard to sleep knowing those drawers were….naked!

My second day here found me at Walmart where some new friends found their way into my cart. I have no idea how it happened either considering I had told my Dad to keep me on track…..I just needed a new bathing suit for my daughter, nothing else. How I ended up walking down the aisle….you know the one I’m talking about. I swear I tried to block the voices that called out to me. I covered my ears and sang “la-la-la-la, I can’t hear you” but the pull was just too strong for me, I am weak, I couldn’t hang on.

MUST HAVE FRIENDS…

I rounded the corner and there they were…..ahhhhh.

“Come with me my pretties, I have some beautiful drawers for you to sleep in. You’ll be comfortable there” and off we went.

I thought I was sick. But this is hilariously great. On vacation. As a guest. You buy baskets to organize with. This rocks. See and what’s running through my mind now is “dude, she didn’t get them on clearance, used, or garage sale’d or something!” But sometimes the obsessive organizing trumps the obsessively cheap… oh well. ;)

You are crazy even so far away…. I love it. I actually pack a couple-O-basket or small bins when we travel to avoid times like this. You are a freak… Be BOLD!

Okay — over the top, Laura … over the top.

I have those containers everywhere! In my kitchen alone, three drawers are organized with them. They’re great!

Sounds like you’re right in you element, even on vacation. LOL

I am enjoying your blog.
I am living in a remodeling mess as we speak.
OH, the organization I need!!!
I’ve been throwing away, giving away, you name it!
I’m definitely adding you to my blog friend list!

You are such a hoot !!! I thought I was freaky cause when I check into a hotel I immediately have to totally unpack and put everything away and then hide the suitcase in the closet!

PS Did you get the tote I sent you???

That was too cute! Now the question is will they travel home with you or be donated to your sister’s home? ;0)

Oh I’m going to try real hard to leave them behind for my sister. In fact I’ve purchased many a basket for her while I’m here. I think I might even have her hooked…he he.

You crack me up! But I completely understand the compulsion, and I blame you completely for my new addiction.

I can’t stay out of Dollar Tree, at least once a week I go prowling the container aisle there, and always come home with some goodies.

Hope your vacation is going great!!

Oh my goodness! I’m in love with your blog!! You see…I completely lack organization when it comes to clutter in my home. I plan to thoroughly read through your blog and learn!!

THANK YOU!!!

Hope you are enjoying your vacation…otherwise…LOL!! You are scaring me however because since starting my whole “organizing myself” goal, I too have raided many container aisles. AHHH. I love being so organized though. Thank you for that!! I can’t wait to have my whole house that way and to always have “organizing” in my mind! Ahh, my cluttered mind will be so thankful!!

have a great weekend.

I’m tellin ya, those baskets are like crack. So’s yer blog! I’m just obsessed with those long narrow minibins!! 3 for less than buck and its sooooooo much fun to find places to put them and then fill ‘em up.

I’ve done my junk drawer, my linen closet, my bathroom sink, medicine cabinet, bathroom shelf and back of the toilet all in just the 2 days since I discovered your blog here.
I’ve always wanted a new hobby, I just never figured it would be mini-bins from WM!

I just had a good laugh at your explanation of your ‘friends’. What a fun blog.
I agree, containers make organizier easier, visually more attractive and somehow soothing not to mention being able to fit more things into smaller spaces.
I like the comment from CMM about this becoming a hobby. I had never thought of organizing as a hobby–I like that.

I use those same baskets to organize our curriculum and more. Love them!!
I just really enjoy your blog and you have inspired me to do more organizing. Between your organizing and Rashel’s decluttering things are really starting to shape up here.
I have initiated a “Who’s Got Junk” Challenge and so far it is going really well!!! Woo Hoo!
