Today was the last day of school for the kids. We are half way done our school clutter crap paper and supply sort but we still have all of this to go…..
I can’t seem to think about anything else until I get this done except now I have to wait till tomorrow because as much as I wanted to keep the kids up all hours organizing, they didn’t seem as enthused with the idea. Go figure!
BUT….I have a pile phobia.
The pile is taunting me….mocking me even as I walk by. I want to just grab it and wring its neck and just throw it away.
Is that wrong?
I won’t because I’ve promised the kids we will go through it together but I swear one of those duotangs just whispered “sucker” to me.
If you are new to my blog and somewhat alarmed concerned that “things” are talking to me, don’t be, it’s all perfectly normal 🙂
Till next time….have a great weekend!

LOL! I think I’m avoiding going through the leftover from school pile as much as my kids. That is one job I really dislike.

I love that you crossed out the word crap…I had to laugh out loud at that one!
Have a great weekend!
Blessings,

Oooh, I love stationery. My heart beats just a little bit faster when I see this.
Did you see my 5 alternate careerspost?

I still haven’t gone through Older Boys stuff yet. It’s taunting me too. But I’ve done the “grab the pile and throw it out” thing. It was one of those days where I had just had ENOUGH. The problem is, a few weeks later I really needed something that was in that pile. Deep breath in, deep breath out…. tomorrow is another day.

Oh my! Once again you are too funny! Piles of “stuff” talking to you. Next thing you know you’ll be holding conversations with the open box of oatmeal. “now don’t feel lonely, I’m going to go and pick up the rest of your family at the grocery store tomorrow and then you’ll be one big happy family in this BIG box!!”
LOL- I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!

There is nothing that will cause me to start to twitch like piles of stuff on my kitchen island. And you’re right, they do talk to you because they think they’re so smart and superior.

I just found your blog and I LOVE IT!!! I sure hope you post what you did with all that stuff.
I’m a wanna be organized person. So, you site will inspire me! 🙂

I love visiting here – I know it’s not just me when I visit here – that pile would be talking to me too!
Until you & your kids return to the job I would put the stuff in a pretty basket and cover it with some pretty fabric and put it somewhere you’ll see it often enough not to forget it but out of sight! (Hall cupboard perhaps)
Thank you for a brilliant site.

I found your blog awhile back and was so glad to find it again today! (from Home Sanctuary)
I HATE piles!
Good luck with it.

Teehee! I would either stick my tongue out at it or when it starts taunting you, laugh in its face because you KNOW that its day will come…
…and it won’t be pretty!
Then as you gleefully containerize and toss, yell at the top of your lungs “Who’s the sucker now??”

This made me laugh, thank you for the Friday chuckle!! =) Good luck getting this all organized!! =)
Christine says
Ha! That’s hysterical. I’m afraid many things in my house would be mocking you…

omg laura, i took maybe 10 min. to sort thru toreys stuff, she just kept a few fave duotangs, kept her fave pencil sharpener, thru out lots of bits and pieces that were in the bottom of her backpack, packed it all up nicely for her mama’s place stuck her report card in it which i have to brag, she was honour roll for all three terms cool hey. Tor got a nice certificate for that accomplishment there was a few others given out as well. Oh and i am going to throw out her p.e. strip as she has outgrown it lol. have fun with the rest of your pile. don’t know what the big deal is really now if only i could get thru the rest of the piles of clutter in my house. Hey Sue! Congrats to Torey, that is awesome!
We got it done today and I’m so proud of the kids for how little they really did want to keep.
I’m also going thru and sorting/tidying up their memory boxes before putting the new stuff in.
More on that to come….

Wow, you get out of school late! We’ve been out for two full weeks now. The first day of vacation I ordered my two to bring their school stuff to the living room, and they went through it there. It’s a big relief when it’s done! It’s probably a bit easier for me, though, because one of mine is 16 (the other is 10…and the other one is almost 22 and I don’t SEE his school stuff!).

My piles talk to me too!! LOL I cannot stand to have them sitting there.

Laura, do you know that your blog has no feed available for those of us with feed readers? I would love to add you to my feed reader but just can’t until you turn that option on. Is that a possibility?
Debi says
Geez…I sure hope it’s not wrong, because I have honestly been known to do just that. Really. Hate those nasty piles. And yet they reproduce faster than rabbits. So I have been known to just “throw it all out”. (Doesn’t always make my family too happy with me though. But I don’t do it too often.)
Cyndi says
If I had “pile phobia” around here, I would need meds for *sure*. They are never ending! Have fun sorting the cr-, um, school supplies. And let us know where you put it all. 🙂
Barb says
I don’t know, Laura. That’s actually a pretty neat looking pile to me. You should see the mess I used to have just from cleaning out school backpacks!
No, it doesn’t surprise me at all that “things” are talking to you. LOL

Wow! You had me with “Today was the last day of school for the kids.” I start homeschooling on August 1st!! One month! And since we do that, I KNOW what you mean about piles talkin’ to ya! But, congrats to you for keepin’ your word to your kids that you would wait on them to go through it! Happy organizing! (Though I’d bet you’re through by now!! One night is ok, but not a whole weekend for you!)
