Tackle it Tuesday ~ Organizing my dishtowels

Hello my friends! I was especially excited to do this tackle because I had pretty new yellow containers to use! As you know by now, it just doesn’t get any better than that for me! And if this is your first time here, be prepared because I talk about containers…A.LOT! I love them. My son would say “then why don’t you marry them?” What a kid, he thinks he’s so funny. But hey maybe he’s on to something because I’m pretty sure I could count on them not to leave their clothes all over the floor. HA!

I’ve been looking for something to fit into the pull out drawer in one of my cupboards to organize my dish cloths and tea towels. The drawer isn’t overly huge but I had a lot that I needed to make room for without it being cluttered.

Ta Da!

It’s a narrower, taller basket so it takes advantage of some vertical space. One basket holds the dish cloths and one the tea towels and the last one holds the baby bibs. Then a smaller basket holds the baby wash cloths. The three baskets didn’t fit three in a row but that’s okay because I used the space in between the baskets to hold our bean bag neck rolls.

Want to know the best part….they only cost $1.50 each from the Dollar Store. I wish I had remembered to take a before picture for you but I was just so darn excited that I just couldn’t wait to get at it and in all my euphoria I just plum forgot to take the before picture. Just picture all that stuff in one big jumbled mess without any containers to create some beautiful boundaries.

Check out some more tackles at 5 minutes for mom!

Great job, Laura. I have come up with a creative solution for our closet that you will enjoy if I ever get around to finishing it. It involves baskets, so I know that you will love it!

Great Tackle! I am just so getting into this basket organizing! It keeps things in place so much better then just piling things up beside each other. Thanks for all of your great ideas!

I was actually going to post a question today about whether you prefer name-brand baskets and bins or if you use Dollar Store ones more.

Hey Gem, definitely I prefer the dollar store baskets. Especially if they are going to be hidden away in a cupboard/closet then it doesn’t really matter to me. For baskets out on display I usually prefer the wicker ones though.
