I’ve been tagged by both Haley and Jana for this meme listing 7 things about me. I tried to come up with seven new things that you might not know about me so let me know if any of this surprises you.
- I’m a clutter freak, not a clean freak. There is a difference and I’m always surprised how many people don’t get this. Dr. Ragan does and she sums it (and me) up pretty darn good in this post titled The Difference between Cleaning and Organizing.
- I hate talking on the phone, in fact I almost never answer it. I’m surprised I still have friends.
- I almost burst out into tears everytime my cell phone rings. My son has many food allergies, one being anaphylactic, so when the cell phone rings I think the school is calling to say something has happened. I suffer more anxiety about this than I let on to anyone.
- I don’t always make my bed in the morning and the sky doesn’t fall.
- I’m gearing myself up to purge my collection….I broke into a sweat just typing that.
- I’m going to Ontario for a month in August and can’t wait to see my family!
- I only just recently realized I like spicy foods, my mom will be so proud 🙂
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great spring weekend, our snow has finally melted!
I’m going to tag Marcia, Sandy, Kilikina, Sandra, and Posh Momma.

Very interesting 🙂 Next year I’ll be joining you in #3.

I enjoyed your list. All of them are new to me.
I don’t like to answer the phone either, so I made my kids put a message on the phone saying that we don’t wanna answer the phone right now, so leave a message, just kidding. But I’m not kidding about it. I’d rather call some people back. What ever did we do before caller id?
Wendy says
My son has a severe peanut allergy, so I could relate to what you were saying. He is usually with me, but when he isn’t I definitely have anxiety about it.
Jana says
Glad you played along. I am not much a phone girl either, although I would much rather answer the phone than have to call someone (especially someone I don’t know well).
Thea says
Oh my gosh, I am so with you about the cleaning vs. organizing thing. (Most) Everything has a place in my house, it just so that the place (and the thing) are covered in an inch of dust. Great post! I was tagged, too, so I have to get mine up soon!
odat_kim says
If it helps, I too purge my collection (makeup, facial and hair care). I purge it a little bit at a time so I don’t feel like I’m wasting as much. I also tend to use something I’m not ready to purge yet thereby when I do purge it, it’s closer to empty.
Jean says
Im the same way with the phone. No one ever really calls us..I think they figured out we don’t answer the phone. 🙂
I have strange anxiety issues too. I may need to do this meme.
Posh Mama says
I just played! Thanks for the tag 🙂
All new stuff to me, we went through about a year and a half with my youngest, he was allergic to wheat and dairy, but outgrew it! It used to drive me crazy because no one seemed to get it and would offer him stuff anyway!

I am with you on number 1!
Kimberly says
I absolutely love how quirky you are! I had the same problem with the phone thing. Got over half the problem by getting a job as a receptionist, and got over the other half by having a nervous breakdown. Umm. Long story. =P
org junkie says
Caller ID is the best invention EVER!
Kim I love your suggestions! Thanks!
Kimberly somehow quirky sounds better than freak…I like it 🙂
Laura
Annie says
Nah you’re still a freak!! I remember one of those cell phone breakdowns…but it was all okay in the end. okqpbnh
Honey says
Ooo that was a good one! 🙂 I get it. I like things to be clean AND neat, and it just isn’t so. Clutter is my bigger problem, and I don’t like visual clutter; so thanks for the reminder to continue the purge. 😉 I am so proud of you for purging the hair stuff. I have done it, and I don’t miss a thing! (Since I wasn’t using them all anyway. Ha ha!). Someone desperately needed toilettries for the family; so I bagged everything up and got it out while I had the push.

Ontario welcomes you!!! Have fun in our fair province!

Wow, the organizing junkie doesn’t make her bed every day–the sky is falling !!! 🙂 🙂 Have a wonderful day.
Marcia says
I’ve done the tag!
Sandra says
LOL I knew I loved you for a reason, I just did my meme too, thank you for tagging me and you know what………I HATE talking on the phone, I actually do a happy dance when I loose a number LOL
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend Laura,
Sandra
Debi says
Oh…I HATE talking on the phone, too! Luckily, my daughter loves to answer it for us.
Sheryl says
I really enjoyed reading these…and was surprised to find I’m not the only non-phone-loving woman in the world 😉
Misslionheart says
Our phone line is crackly, so nobody calls!

Great link! I have a hard time seperating cleaning and organizing. To me it’s like “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie”, if I want to organize my kitchen drawers I need a place to stage everything, if I need space then I need to clean off the clutter from my counter tops, which means that while they are clutter free it’s a good time to clean them with the steamer, which eventually leads to if I have the steamer out I may as well pull out all the appliances, mop, steam clean the grout and reseal it. All that seems so overwhelming that I get nothing done.
Munchkin Land says
I can totally relate to number two; I’m not a fan of talking on the phone either. But I make the effort for the sake of relationships.
Great list!
Susanne says
I knew about “the collection”. Go for it, girl! Just remember to breathe deeply so you don’t pass out! :v)
I can imagine how scary the cell phone ring would be when you have that to deal with.
Now I feel much better about not making my bed everyday!
Christine says
Great list! I don’t like talking on the phone either; I screen calls more than most people know!!
annie says
Fun list Laura. Good to know that “the organizing junkie” sometimes doesn’t make her bed :o).
I understand about the phone anxiety, Izzy’s school calls my cell when she is there and I used to get nervous when I saw their no. and now have learned they call for silly reasons, like for me to bring something from home or store to them… I had to give Izzy to God 100% and not worry anymore. Easier said than done, but it is done.
Have a great evening, see you tomorrow for MPM.
♥,
Annie

That was fun to read. I had no idea you weren’t a neat freak, too! I’m really more of a neat freak than a organizing freak if I had to pick one. I LOVE to organize, but I HAVE.TO.HAVE things neat. I’m the person who straightens pictures and re-stacks the magazines in waiting rooms at the doctor’s office!
org junkie says
Hey Kim,
No I’m the same way as you, I just meant I wasn’t a clean freak. I’d better update my post.
Laura
Sally Bradley says
You are sooo right–cleaning and organizing are not the same. My closets and cabinets and spices can be neat as a pin, but then there’s the bathroom floor that needs to be swept . . .
meg says
Your purging “the collection” !?!?
Let me know how that goes…..I have been toying with the idea of reducing my very similiar collection even further than I already have.
Jana says
AHAHAHA! I had NO IDEA I was tagged! I haven’t read any blogs for almost a MONTH! Yes, a MONTH! I just don’t have TIME! And, that’s the very same reason I don’t do memes. I DON’T HAVE TIME!!!!! I hope you’re not disappointed. I found your post intriguing, and I’m glad I stopped by in my brief moment of free time. I am always remotivated by your blog!
Sarah says
Great post I really enjoyed reading your list. I looove talking on the phone!

I love your blog!!
Thanks for all the great tips!
