Laundry procrastination at its best…..

in My Life

Sorry no time to post today…so I’ll leave you with this reprint….

Today was putter day….it didn’t start out with me thinking it should be putter day but before you know it one thing leads to another. This is how it goes in my world…..it all started while I was brushing my hair and thinking about the 4 loads of laundry I needed to do……..

  1. Reach for my hairspray in my vanity cupboard and the door is so squeaky and loud that I can’t take it anymore…..get the WD40 out and as I’m doing that realize that the vanity cupboard could use some straightening….
  2. Take everything out of vanity and containerize, purge and organize. I look up from the vanity and see that the door to the bathroom could use some hooks on the back to hang my hoody’s that are just draped over the stair banister……meanwhile I’m telling myself, laundry, laundry…don’t forget the laundry….
  3. Put up some command it hooks on back of door. Hang up hoody’s. I take my hubbie’s overnight case which for whatever reason had been in my vanity and really belongs in the other bathroom but when I open that drawer to put it away realize oh that’s not good……dump drawer…..
  4. Bathroom drawer reorganized. Then realize the bathroom counter is now VERY cluttered…..
  5. Organize countertop. Take dirty face cloths to the hamper in baby’s room and this reminds me I’m suppose to be doing laundry….but first what do I see…..
  6. This room is a mess….organize clothes and toys in baby’s room….
  7. Where was I? Oh ya….do load of laundry…..but while in laundry room realize the mini fridge needs restocking with pop. So…..
  8. Restock fridge…..better take the empty pop cases out to the garbage and realize….
  9. All the garbage baskets in the house need to be collected…..oh and we are out of tissue…..
  10. Write a grocery list and menu plan for the whole week……then saunter into the living room…
  11. Oh one of my favorite shows is on…watch show while stitching my son’s stuffie back together….I’d been meaning to do that for awhile…..shows over…look up and think I’ve got to do something with all my birthday cards which were all over the coffee table….
  12. While organizing the birthday cards, decided that a picture on the front of one of the cards should really be framed..
  13. Frame picture…..while placing the newly framed picture back into the living room realize….
  14. That the plants really need watering….okay did that….but now I’m thristy….
  15. Eat three popsicles while reading daily blogs….and then think to myself….
  16. I know there was something I was suppose to be doing today but I can’t for the life of me remember what it was…..

This sounds SO much like me it’s scary! I make lists for absolutely everything, and even wiping up a surface spill can turn into a top to bottom clean of the entire room because when one thing is done you happen to see something else that needs doing …and yeah, it’s usually when I know I need to be doing something else more important ha ha.

So cute! Just look at all the jobs you got done while avoiding laundry! All I need is one really big chore that I don’t want to do and I’m motivated to do just about everything else. Including scrub toilets and wash windows!

Oh my! This sounds like a day in my life. Even when I have lists and schedules, it’s always the little things NOT on the lists and schedules that take up my time!

I just bite the bullet and do it. As fast as I can. To get it over and done with. Actually, I never realized how many other things I could get done at the same time. LOL

LOL that is so funny and even better I’m doing laundry right now but only because I quickly grabbed it and fought off the urge to just leave it for a few more minutes…..though I have to say it will probably be about an hour before I realize that it’s washed and just sitting there ready for the dryer LOL

Thanks for your comments everyone…you brightened my day. Laundry is definitely one of my least favorite jobs, I mean aside from bathrooms because really what could be worse than that…lol!

So funny!

I’m just glad I have my 2 oldest girls…they do a pretty good job with their own laundry. It makes much less for me to do.
