I simply removed the middle shelves so the shelf would fit the designated space and voila, instant Polly World in a corner! She is still setting it all up….this is only the half of it! My dear friend suggested putting a fabric curtain over the front held in place with some velcro to further hide the “mess” but still allow my daughter to tie it back when she wanted to play. This is a great idea and I might just do that over the next couple of days.
So this is why I absolutely hate to get rid of any kind of shelves or bookcases in my home, you just never know when they will come in handy!

I…LOVE IT.
I agree with not tossing bookcases and shelves – they are so easy to re-use. 🙂
Be blessed!

What a great idea! It’s amazing the things we can come up with when a sudden need arises.
Just today I moved an empty bookshelf out of my living room (i can’t believe i’ve been dusting an empty bookshelf for about 6 months). I was just putting it my pile of stuff to take to the resale store when I realized it would be perfect to hold all my videos that were currently on the floor in my basement. Duh!

I love it. I was just trying to think of a storage solution for my daughter’s My Little Pony & Barbie things. I think I now have an inspiration!

Ah, the joy of older kids! LOL My 1 and 3 yr old would NEVER leave that scrapbooking organizer alone! *wink* but I LOVE your idea! I’m already eyeballing the changing table so when Viking #2 is out of diapers, I can make it into something else!

AWESOME!!! Makes me wish I had an extra empty bookshelf to make use of. hee hee hee
We used our changing table, which incidentally was rarely used as that, as shelves for my hubby’s work clothes on top and the bottom held his work boots. Until it fell apart anyways! But we got a lot of use out of it!

Ingenious, I say! I love what you have done, and I love this shelving arrangement. The Velcro curtain will add the finishing touch.
Just out of curiosity, how was scrapbooking stressing you out? And I am not judging at all … I think I can completely relate to you!

really a good idea. My son just walked in and said he preferred the bottom picture! Just in case you were taking a vote or something.

Oh, Laura! You are so clever. I love that shelf. I know your daughter is thrilled to have it in her room.

How cute!
Also, I know what you mean about hating to get rid of any of that type of furniture.
Everytime I do get rid of one, within a weeks time I realize it would have been perfect for something else. *lol*
Love,
Jennelle

Cool! Sorry scrapbooking is causing stress, too. Also laughing with joy that ALL, yes ALL, of our Polly crap…dolls etc..hit the road last summer. We are a Polly-free house now!

That’s great! Maddy loves Polly Pockets too- and at least they have mostly modest attire, unlike some dolls nowadays.

I just ran across your blog…You are my new hero!! People make fun of me for organizing but I think I do it because I’m OCD. I will be back to get some of your great ideas, hope you don’t mind.

Hi — I was wondering if you have pics of your changing station/Barbie station, as I want to do this, too!
Thank you!
