Years ago, plumbers/builders were allowed to use pipes with thin metal walls. We have those in my garage and they keep cracking...so we're going to replace them. It'll be expensive, but in the long run, worth it. Pipes are thicker nowadays, so at least the cracks won't be a problem in the future. As far as your ceiling...good luck! Mom2fur, turns out the pipe you see in the picture had a crack in it so hubby cut out that part and saudered a new piece in. Now all he has left to do is patch the ceiling but don't ask me how he is going to do that cause I don't want to know...lol. Thanks everyone for your nice comments.
