The Name of Your Game

in My Life

Barb over at A Chelsea Morning is asking us to share how we chose the name for our blog. Immediately when I read that I though what a great idea! I am always curious why someone selected the name they did and wondering about the story behind it. It intrigues me and so I look forward to going through the list and reading the stories.

My story started one day as I was reading a friends blog. She was describing how she was addicted to a certain TV show. The title of that post was “I’m an Addict”. It got me to thinking because as I’m sure you’ve figured out I’m an addict too only I’m addicted to organizing! It dawned on me that I’m a junkie really…..I can’t get enough…..I always need more….sometimes at all costs. I’ve been made fun of for years because of my “habit” (mostly in love and fun) so I thought wow I should start a blog about my “freakness”. I think initially I was looking for a place to justify my addiction…..to make fun of myself before others could make fun of me…..but what I found instead is an amazing group of women that don’t think I’m weird (well maybe just a little bit)….they tell me I inspire them…..huh???? I’ve never heard that before. They like me, they like me!!! Well I’m a junkie that has been fuelled…..spiritually and emotionally from this blogging experience….writing mine and reading yours (so many wonderful blogs out there)….and maybe just maybe I’ll “hook” more people into becoming junkies like me!

Don’t forget it’s Menu Plan Monday. I’ve posted mine below.

I liked you before this blog…with or without the organizing stuff. You have a gracious and loving heart for the Lord. You are a joy to be around ! The fact that you are so wonderfully gifed in the orgainzing department is a true bonus to all who are touched by you! You are passionate and not just with organizing…with your faith, your children…..that is to be a credit to you! Well done MY sister!

You and Sally Field. hee hee They like her, too.

Wow. This is one cute design. So bright and cheery. And guess what? You and I could enter exactly the same rehab program — I’ve been teased about it since I was 10.

Perfect name for your blog. Absolutely perfect.

I used to be “musings of a sometimes desperate housewife” and everyone and their dog was that name. Plus I got some weirdos that had googled anything to do with housewifes…kind of scary.
Than one day I was describing how I wanted to lose weight cuz I thought I resembled a “boohba” and I said, “I want to go from boohbaliscious to mamaliscious”. That name kind of stuck!
I’m working on my menu, will post tonight.

The name of your blog is what drew me over, from someone else’s Monday Menu posting. :) I like it!

My blog name, Tammy’s Times, was suggested by my husband.

My friends all think I’m SO organized (maybe compared to them?) But it’s an ongoing process. You can never just GET organized and STAY organized…you have to KEEP ON organizing.

I spent 3 weeks this summer purging closets, drawers, etc. BOY, did THAT feel good! Guess my friends are right…

Hi Laura,
I found your blog over at Barb’s. I like to be organized too, but I find it makes other people (who shall remain nameless) a bit crazy when my organizing spills over into their stuff! I just like everything to have its little space – and not too many “everythings”!

Laura, through the years I’ve forgotten to compliment way too many people when I thought nice thoughts. So I’m trying to remedy that starting now. :) I’ve meant to tell you, I can see you have a beautiful heart. :) I see it in your words and openness. Thank you for sharing! :) I’d like to catch up on my blog reading this week and am enjoying yours. :)

Great description (and what a sweet sister comment). I think it’s a great name, because it tells what you are about, and when people see your comments, they know what you are about. Unfortunately, I am a junk junkie, I think–ha!

I have seen your blog a few times and it’s awesome. I finally blogrolled it. I can’t wait to go read more.
PS I need you in my house. It looks totally organized, but don’t look in the closets.
